🇹🇭 Launch Your Krathong in Cyberspace

Loy Krathong revelers can float their lanterns online on Tuesday as Thailand seeks to reduce the mountain of waste that clogs rivers, canals and lakes during the annual festival.

Local authorities around the country will organize the usual watery Loy Krathong festivities but three websites will offer eco-friendly alternative ways to celebrate.

The Culture Ministry is inviting people to visit https://ecard.m-culture.go.th, where they can create electronic Loy Krathong greeting cards until Thursday.

All users have to do is choose a design, fill in the receiver’s name and message, click the “สร้างการ์ด” (create card) button, and then share or download their creation.

Or there’s Longdo, which allows users to float their krathongs at its map website https://map.longdo.com/loykrathong.

Users select a location to launch their krathong and then follow its journey as it floats along the digital waters.

Meanwhile the Old Siam Shopping Plaza near the Grand Palace is seeking to clean up the historic area’s riverside and canals at https://theoldsiam.co.th/loykrathong.

Head to the website to choose a krathong, add your prayer, and then launch it into cyberspace.
