If you dig a pond, there will be steep slopes on the sides.
During rainy season, this can cause the dirt to wash away down into the pond.
To prevent this from happening, you have to plant some kind of ground cover so the roots stabilize the dirt from washing away.
Ground cover can be in the form of grass, plants, wild flowers or anything else that can grow and cover the slope of the pond.
One the plantings have established firm roots, you won’t have to worry about the embankment washing into the pond.
