In rural Isaan, the majority of places to eat will be open-air, family food shops.
These are often located in the front of or attached to the family home.
I will be the first to tell you that the good shops are the ones always full of people.
The food is great and the place will have a great reputation amongst the locals.
If you continually pass places with no customers, beware!
The bad news for westerner’s if you are not use to eating outside, is there is always a lot of flies buzzing around.
I guess we get use to it?????
Well maybe not go that far, we just have to put up with them.
These shops are a way of life here in rural Isaan.
