People in Isaan love fishing. Not the traditional grab a pole and try to catch a fish though.
Fishing in Isaan means getting in the water, getting wet and being able to throw a large cast net.
Many people might all be in the water at the same time trying to be the lucky one that catches some fish.
Other people in the village with large bodies of water will often stock them for a couple years, then sell tickets (200 to 400 baht each) to a one day fishing derby where all the fish caught can be taken home and eaten.
It is quite a sight to see people fishing this way.
