This is a true story from May 31, 2026.
After visiting Mo Khao Hin with my mother, aunt and husband, we stopped for lunch at Sanruk Cafe.

While eating lunch, there was a hand-carve monkey made out of coconut shells sitting on our dining table.
My husband asked if he could have it, only to be told it was made by a family member of the owner.
After repeated attempts to procure this monkey without any success during lunch, my husband finished his lunch and went outside to get the car; as it had started to rain and he wanted to pull up next to the door.
I knew my husband really wanted this, so I negotiated with the waitress for a price.
She then called the owner and a deal was made.
I was able to get this into the trunk or the car without my husband ever finding out.
When we got to my aunt’s house to drop them off, my mother surprised my husband by giving him this coconut shell monkey.
He was over the moon I was able to get this for him.
It’s not much, but it is always the thought that counts!
The new mascot will be named Meko and is sitting on my husband’s desk.
PS: The Durian and Mayongchid fruit smoothies were both awesome and fresh!
Stay tuned for more Meko Adventures!
