Bangkok Everyday Traffic

Bangkok has 11,700,000 cars and motorbikes. The city was designed for 800,000 cars. The government states that the cars/motorbikes are ten times more than can be properly accommodated on existing roads. Those numbers are increasing by 700 additional cars and 400 motorbikes every day.

It takes experience living in Thailand to know when (what time) to be on certain roads and when not to be.

It is best, if you are Bangkok in the evenings, to figure out how the BTS and MRT work. There may also be some walking involved, however, it will still be faster than being stuck in traffic.

There are places in the city at certain times of the evening, when the traffic will not move at all. Being in a taxi is senseless at that time.

Motorcycle taxis may be the only way to get around quickly during evening hours in crowded locations.

Traveler’s to Thailand should understand that if you are staying in Bangkok, research the time and routes to your destinations before venturing out.

Ask the concierge or front desk at your hotel how long it will take to get to your destination?

You do not want to have your holiday ruined being stuck in traffic!
