If you are planning to move long term to Thailand, this is everything you need to know step by step. From the moment of your first planning, VISA, packing and every step needed for a successful move here with photos and guidance. Prior to moving, secure your VISA, identify where you will be living, health insurance, banking and transportation.

GETTING SETTLED IN THAILAND

  • 1. Depart the airport for your temporary accommodation. Home base before final residence.
  • 2. The accommodation needs to fill out the TM 30 (Report Residence) Form within 24 hours .
  • 3. Pick Up a SIM Card at 7 Eleven or any Phone Shops.
  • 4. The next day, you need to open a Thai Bank Account to deposit your VISA funds. (In 2026 this is almost impossible as banks will not open new accounts on tourist visas, 90 Day Non O Visas or DTV Visas). It is quite possible you will have to pay a VISA agent to open an account for you.
  • 5. At the 90 days in Thailand point, you must fill out the TM-47 (90 day Reporting Form) in person at Immigration the first time. (Subsequent 90 day reports can be done online). Your long term VISA should be approved.
