New Arrival Procedure

Starting May 1, 2025, Thailand will implement a digital arrival card (TDAC) system, replacing the paper TM6 form, requiring all foreign travelers to submit their arrival details online before entering the country.

Here’s a breakdown of the new procedure:

  • What it is: The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online system that replaces the traditional paper-based TM6 form.
  • Who it applies to: All foreign travelers, including those from visa-exempt countries, must complete the TDAC online before arriving in Thailand.
  • When it starts: The TDAC system will be mandatory starting May 1, 2025.
  • How to complete it: Travelers must complete the TDAC online before their arrival in Thailand. https://tdac.immigration.go.th
  • Why it’s happening: The new system aims to improve immigration processes, enhance security, and streamline entry for travelers.
  • What information is required: Travelers will need to provide personal and travel details, including passport information and the address of their stay in Thailand.
  • Is there a cost? The digital TM6 form is free of charge.
  • What about the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)? Thailand has decided to delay the implementation of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system, focusing on ensuring the TM6 system works smoothly first.
  • Where to find more information: You can find more information on the official government website for the arrival card application. https://tdac.immigration.go.th
