One trip to Thailand is enough to convince many tourists to move.
However, after living in Thailand for a couple years, the majority learn the new shine wears off and Thailand becomes a daily slog just like their home countries.
Being Thai and being a US citizen, I have experience living in both cultures.
Believe it or not, it is easier to live in the US than Thailand.
Any complaints you hear is often related to the lack of money or costs.
You chose your life and if you didn’t make any money, it is no one’s fault but your own.
Moving to Thailand is NOT going to fix your problems on a limited budget and may make your life worse.
Young people moving to Thailand have a high failure rate and are often sent packing back home to live with mom and dad at a later age.
Why?
No matter where you live in the world it costs money. If you have to work, work eats up all your time, wears you out and it is no different working here in Thailand or anywhere else. Worse working here with longer hours and limited pay.
Do you even have a clue or understand why people have to work until they are 65+ in their own countries in order to be able to retire?
Have any idea how much money you will need to retire in Thailand and if it is even possible to earn and save that much if you are working in Thailand?
Today, people do not listen to common sense or reasoning.
They want to move today, right now, and have no clue what the next 40 years will be like.
They think Thailand is this magical place of wonderful resorts, food and enterntainment.
But they never comprehend or understand the costs to maintain that life.
The working class life in Thailand is probably much worse than you could ever imagine.
Not having the time or money to come and go as you please, buy a house, car and everything normal working people have in their home countries.
How could that possibly be fun or rewarding?
If you think moving to Thailand before you have retired is going to solve all your problems, you are just not thinking.
When you don’t think, you get the instant karma.
