I choose to live in rural Thailand.
There are no tuk-tuk’s, no longtail boats, no beaches, no islands, and most importantly, no tourists.
When you choose to spend the rest of your living in Thailand, the best choice is to live far away from the rat race called tourism.
You can always visit the tourist locations whenever you feel the urge.
However, the best quality of life is far away from all of this.
Bangkok has it’s issues with over-crowding, massive traffic jams and air pollution. Why in the world would you want to put up with that the rest of your life?
Phuket and the islands are over-crowded with pushy, noisy foreigners, traffic is horrible and the costs are sky high.
Condo living can get old extremely fast. I would never think to live in a high rise condo.
For people that have never lived at or near the ocean it doesn’t take long for that to grow old. It gets very so hot and the water is so warm, it is not refreshing at all.
For me, the peace and quiet of rural Thailand, the friendly and helpful local people and the cheapest costs are ideal.
The older you get, the longer you live in Thailand, you learn that the least stress free life is the best life to live a long time.
In rural Thailand you can find mountains, clean rivers and waterfalls that will be void of any tourists.
You can still find villages that have never had a foreigner visit.
Every one knows each other and helps each other.
Having some land for gardening, fruit trees, a pond. Makes for a very relaxing life.
If you are planning to move to Thailand from the west, you may need the comforts you are use to in the West.
You may need and want other foreigners to meet and speak with.
You may want shopping malls and tourist attractions.
And that is just great for foreigners who seek that lifestyle.
