Life is funny and unpredictable.
Because you visited Thailand once and got totally enthralled with being here, you decided to move here.
The first lesson harshly learned is that living in Thailand is NOT even close to the same experience as being a tourist.
Just like living in your own country is no picnic.
If you are not retired with a pension sufficient to support your lifestyle here in Thailand, you are going to find out quite quickly that there isn’t anymore.
Life, when you are not retired, basically comes down to working your entire life to pay your monthly bills and save a little for retirement.
It is the exact SAME here in Thailand! Except you may never save enough to retire and you sure won’t be getting a big western pension.
People are so disgusted with their everyday working class lives, that they think Thailand is going to be different.
Newsflash! Ask any of the 10,000,000’s of Thai’s working day to day.
There is no magic bullet here folks.
The daily grind you fall into, whether teaching English or something else, is all there is.
There isn’t anymore no matter what you are telling yourself.
Put on your virtual headset and see if you like what you see of yourself 20 years from now living in Thailand?
Because there isn’t anymore.
Short of winning the lotto, you will be doing well just to financially survive.
While you are just surviving, I hope you have found your happiness.
There isn’t going to be anymore than that.
Take a look at your future and compare to all the Thai people that have no choice but to slog it out for peanuts everyday.
