A Life and a Holiday

Is real life living in Thailand a holiday?

Is real life anywhere a holiday?

The answer is no.

People take holiday’s to escape the mundaneness of their daily lives.

A holiday experience is NEVER going the change the architecture of real life.

Complete opposites.

Real life requires enough money to survive each month. Whether you have retirement income or having to work, real life costs money.

If you have to work in Thailand you might learn it is much worse that working in your home country. One of the differences between life and a holiday.

All those 5 star resorts and fancy meals you enjoyed on a holiday, are NO longer affordable in real life Thailand.

You must stick to your monthly budget and depending on how much that is, will determine your quality of life.

A one room condo and Thai street food everyday is FAR short of a holiday experience. It can get boring quite quickly if that is all you can afford.

Here is a fun tip? When I lived at the beach, I never went to the beach. Once you have been to the beach a few times, you realize there is not really much too it. It’s hot as hell, easy to sunburn, jellyfish, red flag days and sand everywhere. Not even worth it.

Unless you are retired and do not have to work, your Thai life is NOT going to be a holiday.

Understand that #1!

Analyze exactly what your Thai Life will be like on the budget you have for yourself and the time left over after work (If you have to work long hours here).

If you continue to believe living in Thailand is one grand Utopian Holiday, you will surely live to regret moving here.

Thailand can get old and boring without money, much worse than your own country.

Ask yourself all the tough questions first.

Be your own devil’s advocate.

Plan your life according to your income.

Only then decide if it is worth it to move to Thailand and if your Thai Life will be exactly as you need it to be.

Can you build a life in Thailand, you will never need to escape from?
