The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) forecasts 42.23 billion baht in revenue for Chinese New Year 2026, marking a 13% annual increase. Officials anticipate 1.25 million international visitors will travel to the country between February 13 and 22.
TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool cited improved safety perceptions and effective marketing for the consistent rise in Chinese arrivals. Daily visitor numbers from China currently range between 13,000 and 14,000.
Authorities are now prioritizing charter flights from secondary Chinese cities to maintain this positive momentum. Current booking data supports these strong economic projections for the upcoming festive period.
