Ivory Coast Man Arrested at Patong Hospital for Cocaine Possession

Authorities in Phuket have arrested a 26‑year‑old Ivory Coast man on charges of possessing and consuming cocaine, following a coordinated law enforcement operation in the Kathu District.

Relevant officials told the Phuket Express that the operation was led by Kathu District Security Chief Jirawat Namat and Prevention Officer Anurak Phulsak, supported by members of the Volunteer Defense Corps.

The suspect, identified only as Mr. A, was apprehended at Patong Hospital in Patong. Officers seized three blocks of cocaine weighing 4.31 grams and a Samsung Galaxy A35 mobile phone during the arrest.

He now faces charges of:
• Possession of a Category 1 narcotic (cocaine) with intent to sell without authorization
• Consumption of a Category 1 narcotic without authorization.

The suspect and confiscated evidence have been handed over to investigators at Patong Police Station for further legal proceedings.
