Thai people often wonder how the air is so polluted during the dry season here?
Many think the air pollution issue is caused by illegal burning, and cars belching black smoke to be two main causes.
Despite government laws banning burning, there is almost NO enforcement of the illegal burning, so it continues everyday.
Where we live, people burn their trash in their yards, they burn things to stay warm, they burn their crop stubble.
This all amounts to massive air pollution.
No mind is giving to the burning smoke causing medical issues, cancer or anything.
It is burning as always.
One good thing about the rainy season, the rains cut down on people burning things immensely.
So we always look forward to the rainy season.
