Don’t You Know Who I Am

If you have lived in Thailand, you know exactly what this sentence is referring to and if not, I will explain it to you.

People with money and power, always try to use their position to get out of wrong doing, even when caught on video.

The offender will make the comment “Don’t You Know You I Am” (which no one knows at the time), to intimidate and harass the person he has committed an offense again.

People with money and power feel they can never be in the wrong and if you challenge or go against them, they will retaliate against you using their social position and power.

It is best to never challenge these people, even in you are in the right. Getting into an argument, these people always seem to get agitated very quickly and start threatening the innocent party.

If you do not know this Hi-So person, understand they can and will retaliate is a very serious way. We cannot understand their limits for severe retaliation.

If there is no video or crowd to fitness the offense, it will be even worse for you.

Best to Wai respect and avoid an argument at all costs.

If there is a crowd of witnesses, a video or other evidence, that is still no guarantee the offender will back down.

It all depends how much power and money they have.

If you ever see an angry Thai stating “Don’t You Know Who I Am”, think carefully and avoid all confrontations.
