We are filling in our one rai (last year for sugarcane) with fill dirt approximately 6 feet deep.
After discussing with officials, we owned the one piece of culvert that was dumping water in our field, so we had to add 20+ pieces of concrete culvert to move the water off the property.
In doing so, we decided to fill the whole field in with fill dirt.
Now, my experience (all you loose cannons out there can have your own experience) is to get a quote of the entire job; which is what we did.
The contractor (our next door neighbor with the Makro and trucks) will want to get paid and fill the trucks as full as possible to get the job finished.
Paying by the truckload, you may get half-loads or less than full loads to jack the price up.
If you can get a quote for the entire fill I believe is better. If you can stomach that price, at least you have a firm fixed price.
To do this 1 rai 8 feet deep, we are paying 90,000 thb.
They are digging out land for a pond nearby so the trucks are coming quite frequently from close distance.
