The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has decided to revoke its contracts with nine private hospitals in Bangkok because they allegedly filed false claims for reimbursements for their services under the universal health care scheme.
NHSO spokesman Athaporn Limpanylers said the nine hospitals are Mahesak, Bang Na General 1, Prachapat, Navaminthra, Petcharavej, Kluaynamthai 2, Phaetpanya, Bangmod and Kluaynamthai.
Dr Athaporn said the NHSO board and a sub-committee in charge of the universal healthcare scheme in Bangkok resolved to file a police complaint against the nine hospitals and revoke the contracts for them to provide healthcare services under the scheme and recall the money which had been paid to them.
The resolution was made after a fact finding committe found solid evidence that the nine hospitals had made false claims reimbursements for the cost of comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) tests.
