I live in a small village. Not long ago, we got a 7/11 in the village.
One observation I have is the amount of local’s buying bag’s of junk food.
With limited income, spending money at 7/11 means these same folks won’t have money to spend at the local shops.
7/11 roasts their own coffee and sell’s an Ice Latte for 40 baht. 20 meters from 7/11, the local coffee shop sells Ice Latte for only 20 baht.

People still buy Latte’s from 7/11.
The twice a week village market has shrunk considerably (number of sellers), since 7/11 opened.
Business at 7/11 seems to be booming even though nothing they sell there is healthy.
I understand the convenience of a 7/11, however, in our location I think it is doing more harm than good.
People feeding their kids on junk food from 7/11 is starting them off the wrong way in life.
Not to mention the cost.
7/11 is here to stay, so everyone will have to adapt to whatever changes this causes.
The amount of sodium and sugar in the 7/11 products is not conducive to good health.
However, people will continue to shop there and get what they want.
