The sugarcane harvest is in full swing.
The locals are happy to be able to work cutting sugarcane by hand.
Many that own land have their own sugarcane, which they cut by hand and take to the local buyers for cash.
One by-product of sugarcane harvesting season, is the amount of double tractor trailer trucks hauling sugarcane to the mill.

The roads are packed with these slow moving trucks.
Caution is needed as impatient drivers will try to pass these slow moving trucks in wreck-less situations.
The trucks constantly drop sugarcane stocks in the roadways, which are then run over by other motorist’s and make a mess.
Also, the level of dust is excessive.
It is part of life in rural Isaan for 4 months, and one of the only ways the locals can earn money during this part of the year.
