Villager’s in rural Isaan have a lot of bad habits and one of them is burning.
They will burn anything and everything, not realizing the pollution they are causing.
This is the way it has always been here.
With no efficient trash removal services or not wanting to spend money, the villagers will light fires in their yards and burn anything they want to get rid of.
Forget any government bans on burning as there is no enforcement here.
The dry season is the worst for burning and one reason I look forward to the rainy season.
We are thankful 10,000’s of rai of sugarcane and rice balance out the air most days.
Still, there is no education to show the villagers a better way, so the burning continues.
