It takes tough times to get the government to change their attitudes towards foreigners and we are currently in a tough economic time in Thailand.
That is good news for foreigners as we now see the baht at a beneficial level for foreigner’s currencies.

Reviewing increasing the condo occupancy rates for condo buildings from 49% foreign ownership to 75%.
With higher levels of household debt and tighter lending conditions, the government is looking for other avenues to sustain the economy and that includes more benefits for foreigners.
According to the REIC, the number of condo transfers by foreigners in 2023 totalled 14,449 units, up 25% from the year before, with the value rising 23.5% to 73.1 billion baht
Hopefully any benefits to more foreigners being allowed to live in Thailand will have more positive results than trouble.
