Unfortunately, I have had to file my very first police report.
My first step was to visit the Ban Thaen Police Station, located in Ban Thaen District, Chaiyaphum Province. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can be contacted by phone at 044-052-156.
Filing the Report
Tell the duty officer that you wish to file a police report (“แจ้งความ” – Jaeng Kwam).
I was fortunate the commanding officer took my report in person.
Have your ID card ready.
The officer will record your statement in a police log book in Thai and may ask additional questions.
At the Ban Taen Station the hand written log book report is then typed into a computer by the clerk and signed by the CO.
Read the report carefully before signing it, and ask for a copy for your records.
After the visit to the police station, the CO and 2 detectives arrived to my location to talk to people and do a visual inspection.
They were most professional and concerned with my case.
