How long after moving to Thailand fulltime, did it take you to starting acting like you belong here and not act like a tourist?
How long to assimilate into your local surroundings, where you would not stand out as being a simple tourist?
Did you learn the language and/or follow local customs?
Did you convert to Buddhism?
Do you respect the Thai culture and ways?
I think the most important part of assimilating into Thailand is being able to speak the local dialect.
Once locals can talk to you, they have a better understanding that you can be one of them.
If you act, dress, look like a tourist, you will always be treated that way.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
You want to fit in and belong wherever in Thailand you live.
Watch the locals and do/behave as they do.
