Everyday in the Thai news, foreigners are getting arrested left and right.
It has been such a pandemic that the government is getting ready to lower the visa exempt from 60 days to 30 days.
The reason being, all the bad guys using the 60 days to do illegal things.
So, once again, a few will ruin it for the majority.
The government argues that true tourists never spend more than 30 straight days here and this will not dent tourism one bit.
They may have a good point as many here on a 60 day visa exempt, start illegal businesses, sell drugs and all kinds of other illegal activities to fund their stay.
Tourist areas like Pattaya and Phuket are chock full of all kinds of issues with drunken foreigners, foreigners fighting, stealing and just being bad.
It is too bad however with all the complaints from Thai locals, this has to be done to cure the crime.
Thailand has attracted loads of people from a few choice countries that seem to be responsible for the majority of the crimes.

So thanks to them and many more, your exempt stay will be limited to only 30 days.
