Government Travel Warnings

The far south of Thailand, along the Malaysian border, has been wracked by a separatist insurgency since the 1940s. Most foreign governments advise against travel to the districts of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and parts of Songkhla.

Bombs are often planted in areas frequented by Thai people and tourists such as local markets.

Schools are often a target of the insurgents as well.

Travel to these destinations at your own risk.

It is best you follow your own government’s travel advisories for your personal safety.
