Letting Go

We have owned a house in Florida, USA for years.

It is finally time to let it go (put the house up for sale).

Many people that contemplate moving to Thailand full time sell everything with the intention of never going back.

Some hang on to their property to rent it out for income.

There will come a time, when you finally realize, you will no longer be visiting or using the property.

We are at that stage now.

It was not as difficult a decision as one might think.

Cutting down the cost of ownership from something you never use and socking away the proceeds.

In our case, the house is still furnished.

We have decided it is best to hire an estate sales company to sell all the furnishings and clean it out.

Selling Out

That is a big undertaking when you have a house stuffed full of things.

The issue is we have no need and use any of the things in that house.

We already have a house in Thailand with everything we have needed the past 20+ years.

Do understand, there will always be things of great sentimental value that you may decide to part with. The sentiment is the hard part of letting go.

A decision has to made to only carry suitcases back or have some items shipped which can be costly.

That is a personal decision each person must make when relocating overseas.

Lots of thought, stress and effort until it is over.

But you can do it just like we can and have to do it!

Bon voyage!
