People are enamored with their first visit to Thailand.
Many think that first tourist experience is the way life would be in they were living in Thailand fulltime.
Then they make the permanent move.
The sad news is that it is not.
There is something about being on a holiday, not working, and with the money to see and do whatever you want.
Unless you are retired and have a nice pension, you could not afford to have that life in Thailand.
Many people have made the huge move, opened businesses and are barely surviving month to month.
That is the real truth for 99% of the expats that are not retired.
That life gets old quick.
Even quicker if you meet someone and they have their own financial expectations from you.
Tourist’s really need to look past their tourist experience and understand exactly what real life would be here.
You think you are going to be happy your entire life teaching English for $1,000 a month?
You might be the first year or two. Then what?
Renting a one room condo the rest of your life? No, thanks.
Understand with your budget exactly what kind of life you will have here.
You might not like what you uncover. Then what?
Back home to live with Mom and Dad when you are 30 or 40 years old?
What about saving for retirement?
How do you do that if you are barely surviving month to month?
No matter how many Youtubers tell you it is cheap to live in Thailand, there is way more to that story.
Ask yourself if you CAN live that lifestyle with limited income the rest of your life?
Even though you will be in Thailand, you will soon learn Thailand is not the same experience with no money.
Thailand offers no free ride or magic bullet for an exceptional life unless you can pay for it.
The stress of not having a guaranteed income is extremely unhealthy. Always worrying if you will run out of money.
If you cannot pay for the life you want, moving here is not a smart decision and will end badly.
That is the sad truth!
