Local Festivals

Even in the pouring rain, the local officials found a way to have a festival last night.

The festival was to celebrate one of the local villager’s death.

Yes, you heard that right. A celebration of death.

The festival was moved from a nearby Buddhist temple to a local school yard.

A large covered roof provided protection from the monsoon rain and allowed the festival to continue.

Around Midnight, the deceased family took the stage with photos of their loved one to celebrate his life.
