You had better understand, in Thailand, money is everything!
Your quality of life with be directly related to how much money you have to spend each month.
If you think just moving to Thailand is the dream, think hard.
Living in Thailand on the cheap gets old, super fast.
You will want more.
You will want to go places and see things.
You will want the latest I-phone and other things.
If you get in a relationship, that person will want things.
Thailand is just another country that cost money.
There is no magic that everything you want to have is cheap here.
I am not even talking about living here the rest of your life.
I am talking about the first year.
Living in a rented box and eating street food will get old in as little as 2 months.
Then what?
Forget going home to see family and friends.
Forget going on a holiday.
There are 100’s of Youtuber’s as evidence how tough life can be with little money.
Many have already gone home, failing to realize money is #1 here.
Moving to Thailand to live on the cheap is NOT the same experience you are thinking it will be.
It is 10 times worse.
If you want to find out the hard, came here with little money.
How much money do you need each month to keep Thailand interesting and to maintain some resemblance of a normal life?
It is different for everyone.
I would not suggest moving here with the intention of being here long term without a bare minimum of US $2,000 a month (Single person).
You may find out even that amount is not enough to keep you happy.
Before quitting your job and selling everything you own, take a 90 day sabbatical to live in Thailand.
Only then will you truly understand what your life will be like.
