We are cleaning out our house in Florida, USA.
The decision has been made to finally sell this house as we will not be coming back to the US.
Our house has a ton of stuff in it.
Furniture, electronics, stereos, paintings, computers, tools, dishes, you name it.
After cleaning out all the closets and drawers, we are amazed at how much stuff we accumulated over the years.
The sad thing is, none of it really means anything to us anymore and will be of no use in Thailand.
We already have everything we need in our Thai house.
It is a realization how much money we spent over the years for things we probably never even needed.
We hired an estate sale company who stated, due to all the stuff, it will take them 2 weeks to price and arrange everything for a 3 day sale.
We are not the least bit sad as we know we will never be returning to the US.
The money was long spent and gone, the attraction to all of this stuff is no longer there.
Moving is a drag. Period.
It is a very stressful time once the decision is made.
Getting rid of a whole house full of things is not fun, believe me.
Then the house must be put up for sale.
The only sane way to handle this is to keep a notebook handy and write down everything you think that needs to be done before you forget something.
Cancel the utilities, change of address, cancel any subscription or things you will no longer need, cancel car registration, car insurance, you name it.
The list can be quite long and easy to forget things.
When you make a decision to move, it is a huge decision that requires careful planning.
And then some more planning and more after that!
I will be so happy once this is all over and I can return to my normal life in Thailand!
