Thailand is not the place to live if you need to make money.
Honestly, I wish I had a solution for all of you that would like to move to Thailand and be able to support yourselves financially.
But I do not.
It is extremely hard even for Thai’s to make money, let alone the amounts foreigners require to live here in financial safety each month.
Youtuber’s throw out all these wild money making ideas, but 99.9% of them are total BS.
Unless your name is Mark Wien’s, 99% of the expat Youtuber’s are financially worse off here than they were in their own countries.
Living in Thailand on the cheap is not exactly living or fun either.
If I did have some bonafide ideas to make money here for expats, I would certainly share them with you all.
I really have no idea’s that could guarantee your financial survival here.
It takes money to make money, same as in the west, however, it is much easier to lose all your money starting a business here than anywhere in the world; for all kinds of different reasons.
One of the biggest issues is when you deal in Thai baht, you cannot get enough daily customers to make the US $3,000 to $4,000 a month you need to live here.
If you are selling food and make 40 thb profit per dish, you need to sell 825 dishes a month just to make US $1,000. That does not include having to pay rent, utilities or Thai helpers.
You simple cannot find that volume of customers in most locations.
The low tourist season dooms many businesses, when there are no tourists coming to Thailand.
There appears to be many foreign bar owners in places like Pattaya, yet you have to be willing to support red light activities to make a profit. How much they earn is anyone’s guess?
The only real solutions are teaching English for low pay and living like a Thai or you have the skills to get a DTV and work online for a western salary.
I’ve given some thought into maybe you have to have multiple things all going at the same time and the cumulative total of all those activities could meet your requirement monthly amounts.
5,000 thb per month from multiple activities may be easier to make than 1 activity at 50,000 thb per month?
At the end of the day, it is extremely difficult to make enough money to spend the rest of your life here.
You need to give that careful thought and have some money saved in reserved.
Good luck!
