KNIFE HORROR – Brit Tourist, 34, Fighting for Life After Multiple Stab Wounds at Phuket Beach Bar
A 34-year-old British tourist is in a critical condition after being repeatedly stabbed during a violent attack at a beach bar on the Thai island of Phuket.
The victim had been drinking at the popular venue in the early hours of the morning when he was suddenly attacked by another holidaymaker. Bleeding heavily from several knife wounds, he managed to stumble out of the bar calling for help before collapsing outside a nearby beachside restaurant at around 12:20am local time.
Paramedics were dispatched to Maya Beach, where they found the man slumped on the ground and barely responsive. He was rushed to Thalang Hospital for emergency treatment, where he remains in serious condition.
The attacker fled and has not yet been identified. Local police say the victim is still too unwell to give a statement. Officers have taken accounts from witnesses, but the only description so far is of a “large foreign man.”
Volunteer paramedic Than Sirichai said:
“At approximately 12:11am, we received a report of a foreign national who had been stabbed multiple times and was losing a significant amount of blood. When we arrived, we found a British man sitting on the ground, barely conscious and needing constant stimulation to stay awake.
“Details of the incident are still under investigation. Witnesses said the injured man ran out of a bar seeking help and collapsed in front of a restaurant on Maya Beach. A man who was with him, thought to be between 40 and 50 and possibly Russian, was also present. I’m not sure of their relationship.”
Colonel Eakkarat Plaiduang confirmed that a full investigation into the attack is underway.
