Road Rage!

Road rage in Thailand is a huge problem.

Foreigners that drive, need to understand that before ever getting behind the wheel.

Many Thai people these days are wound too tight.

Any perceived act on the roadway can set them off into violent fits involving guns or knives.

A foreigner has to understand the Thai mentality of each driver thinking they own the road.

Also, I suspect there is a huge number of unlicensed and untrained drivers on the roadways.

Understand 100% so that you do not become a victim of road rage.

Expect Thai’s to be very impatient and make irrational driving moves.

Thai driver’s are not classified as world class by any means and will do irrational driving moves as they see fit, not understanding there are other cars close by.

They will turn with no blinkers.

They will make unsafe U-turns into oncoming traffic.

They will tailgate.

They will make unauthorized lane changes.

They will break suddenly with no warning.

Motorcyclists will zoom in and out between the lanes.

TIPS

  1. Never beep your horn for any reason at another driver.
  2. Never give another driver the middle finger.
  3. Never give any indication of yelling or being upset.
  4. DO not pay attention, if a Thai driver is road raged.
  5. Capture everything on video if possible.
  6. Stay in the slow lane if driving slow.
  7. Never be in hurry to pass.
  8. Take your time driving.
