Rural Thailand is where the real Thailand experience resides.
Tourists that are wanting to move to Thailand, never get a chance to experience rural Thailand.
After a holiday to Thailand, they fall in love with Thailand and want to move here.
Except!!!!!!!
They move to the same kind of experience they are moving from.
Like Hua Hin.
Need to be around many other foreigners to socialize.
Need to be around sources of western foods and restaurants.
Need to be in a condo with other expats.
It is all the same.
Everything revolves around western idealism.
It is NOT the real Thailand or Thai experience.
It is living a western experience in the country of Thailand.
For the majority of expats, that is exactly what they learned as a tourist and what they want as an expat.
The majority of expats could NOT live like a Thai person or in rural Thailand no matter the positive benefits.
There are little to no other foreigners.
There is no western food.
There are no upscale restaurants.
There isn’t much of anything except no traffic, pollution, crime or anything else.
A great place to live in the fresh air.
And the best thing?
If you own a vehicle, you can always go to the vacation hotspots or cities anytime you want.
You just don’t have to live right in the middle of the madness and high costs.
There isn’t much of anything in rural Isaan except the lowest costs and friendliest people.
That is good for us, however, I always wonder what tourists would think if they had visited rural Isaan and if any would move here?
