Today we had someone stop buy our house build and ask if we were interesting in buying some more land right down the street.
We were quoted a price we liked and drove off to see the land with the man.
Consequently many people showed, up, even some wanting to sell their adjoining lands.
An old grandma that was selling the land, went to research what title the land had (red) and came back with her son.
We were very interested in this land, however, the son interjected that he want 4X the price we were original quoted.
This happens in rural Isaan when they see a foreigner is involved.
Rural people think all foreigners are rich, which is not true at all.
Once thing is we have a large house being built just down the street, so the son probably assumed because of that, we would pay 4X more.
Sad to say, no thank you and off we went back to our own build.
The chance was there to make the sale at the originally price and instead, it will remain for sale forever as no one has any money here.
These things happen all the time in rural Isaan when they know a foreigner is involved.
