99% of the tourists to Thailand never make it to rural Isaan.
Which is really a shame.
Their view of Thailand is tourist areas, Big Buddha, Grand Palace, etc.
They never realize their are much better places to go and things to see in rural Isaan.
The best thing, where the Grand Palace charges 500 baht entry for foreigners, most of the things in rural Isaan are free.
The best things I have ever seen in Thailand, after visiting all 76 provinces, are things in rural Isaan.
If you never get out of the tourists areas, you miss the very best parts of Thailand and there is nothing westernized in rural Isaan.
You get the real 100% Thai experience.
