For those of you that follow this website, my husband and I are in the middle of selling our house in Florida.
We have owned that house for many years and decided, since we no longer go back to the US, to get the house unloaded and sold.
We hired an estate sale company to come in and sell the entire contents of the house.
We both have only 2 suitcases each to return with.
For those of you thinking about selling up and moving to Thailand this is for you.
The estate sale company is in the house for 8 hours per day for 14 days.
They are cleaning out all the closets, drawers, etc. and getting everything organized for the sale which will be Aug. 1, 2, and 3.
Furniture, Antiques, China, Murano Statues, Vintage Guitars and Amps, plus an entire garage full of equipment and tools. Tons of things from a lifetime ago.

We made this decision because we already have everything we need in our house in Thailand.
It is not hard to let go of personal possession’s for me, maybe a few for my husband, but we both decided we did not want or any of these things in our Thai house.
Sound’s strange when you have had things for 20 years, however not so much.
The estate sale company is doing all the work and holding the sale.
They will keep 45% of all the sale proceeds.
After the 3rd day of the sale, anything that didn’t sell will either be donated or tossed in a large bin.
We want to get the house listed and return home as soon as possible.
If you are selling up and moving to Thailand, getting rid of or making a plan to ship all belongings might be the biggest task of all.
Thailand is a new beginning and starting fresh may be the best answer of all.
I think we are both finding out how easy it is to accumulate a lot of belongings that we never used and now find ourselves not caring about.
In times like this, when you have made the decision to sell up everything you own and move, you have to look at the bright side of things.
The new start, the new adventure and the realization you really never needed most of this things.
If you are moving to Thailand, it can be stressful but keep the future in mind.
Things can be replaced, maybe not the same quality, but you can still get everything you need for your house in Thailand.
