In many areas of rural Isaan, there is no weekly routine trash pickup.
Resident have a choice between burning their trash in their yards or taking it to the closest dump.
It is not uncommon to see trash pile up before the owners feel a need to take it to the dump.
Leaving trash out is a huge mistake due to the amount of stray dogs starving here.
These dogs will tear open the trash bags in search of anything they can eat.
Trash left around also is a magnet for rats, and they will come for sure.
Trash disposal seems simple to westerners but over here in rural Isaan, they still haven’t seemed to figure it out.
