Thailand is not all roses as you may think.
When you visit as a tourist, you are in the optimal of the best tourist locations and conditions. Glossy travel brochures and social media do not show the whole truths.
The dream of Thailand sells itself and many sell up and make the move permanently.
What happens to many tourists that move, is that they did not do any research what life is really like here. Researching the worst and not the best.
Bangkok for instance. Some of the world’s worst air pollution and you just moved right into it. Hope you have good health insurance because you will need it.

Here is a current story from Phuket:
Phuket’s bustling streets are getting a whiff of something far less pleasant as the city grapples with an intensifying odor crisis.
The stink emanating from the Phuket Waste Disposal Centre at Saphan Hin has reached unbearable levels, especially as the rainy season worsens conditions at the already overcrowded landfill.
With more than 1,200 tons of rubbish arriving at the site each day, the persistent wet conditions have made the situation even worse. The foul smell is now causing major concern among both residents and tourists.

In a recent online report, Phuket City Municipality explained that the problem has become even more challenging due to the temporary closure of one of the center’s incinerators for repairs. As a result, the additional waste has been redirected to landfills No. 4 and No. 5, further exacerbating the problem.
The heavy rainfall over the past week has caused water to wash through the trash, intensifying the foul stench in the area.
The mayor acknowledged that the waste management system is under significant strain. At present, 700 to 800 tonnes of excess waste are being redirected to the incinerator each day, making it more difficult to manage the growing mountain of garbage.
As the stench lingers over Phuket, locals and visitors alike are hoping for a quick resolution to what has become a growing environmental and public health concern.
Did you ever think that after your ideal holiday to Phuket that there would be any such problems like this before you moved?
Of course not because the beach life dream had already convinced you.
The reality when you have had over 65,000 Russians and others moving to Phuket, is the consumption and trash is too great for the facilities to handle.
And, it WILL get worse over the years as the population continues to explode.
If you are planning on moving to Thailand, you had better understand the WORST things of your location and not the best things.
After you make an investment in a place, it is to late.
