How do you like living in Thailand?
Is it everything that you expected?
Now that you are not traveling around Thailand everyday sight-seeing, what exactly have you been up to?
Does Thailand have the same appeal as when you first moved here?
Many people find out, after moving to Thailand, that their daily lives are not what they expected.
The biggest reason for this is money.
If you are on a limited monthly budget, the day to day slog of Thailand will wear you down quite quickly.
The same exact way your own country wore you down.
Don’t kid yourself.
Thailand is not this free magical place when all of life’s problems mysteriously disappear.
Things to do cost money. A true fact of life.
Your life will be directly related to your budget.
You had better understand that before you decide to move.
Figure out what kind of life you want to have?
Figure out where/how you are going to live and will you be happy living there the rest of your life?
Figure out if you can afford a car?
Figure out whether or not you can eat Thai street food the rest of your life or whether you can afford to go out and eat whatever you want?
Figure out if you have money to go on vacations or back to your own country to visit family and friends?
Figure out medical/health insurance?
Figure out if you can afford to go shopping and buy all the latest gadgets?
Figure out all the exact same things, you already had figured out in your home country.
Then figure out how much ALL of that will cost in Thailand and whether you can safely afford it or not?
Your life will be directly related to your budget.
Also, understand that costs and unforeseen expenses will rise in the next 20+ years.
Can you still afford the quality of life you think Thailand will offer you?
If you can’t, better have a Plan B even before you move to Thailand.
Make sure you have some place to stay if you have to move back home.
Thailand is not so much fun if you are barely scraping by and it will mentally exhaust you.
Be warned, money is of the utmost importance here.
